Your data is private to your account. CivicShield never shares or sells your personal information.
What we store
CivicShield stores only what you create: the incidents you document, the evidence you upload, the opt-out requests you log, and the notices you generate. This includes sender information, message details, dates, and any screenshots or files you save to your Evidence Locker.
How submitted text and attachments are processed
When you use the free checker, your description of the unwanted contact is used to generate practical guidance. When you generate a notice, the details you provide about the incident are used to draft notice text. Files you upload to your Evidence Locker are stored in your account and are not shared with other users.
Third-party AI services
CivicShield uses AI to help analyze messages and draft notice text based on the information you provide. The details you enter about an incident are sent to an AI service to generate guidance or draft notices. You review and edit every notice before it's used. AI does not make legal determinations or guarantee outcomes — it's a tool that helps you communicate more effectively.
Export and deletion
You can review, export, or delete your records at any time. Your incidents, evidence, and notices remain in your account under your control. If you cancel a paid subscription, your data remains in your account and you can continue to access, export, or delete it.
Data retention
Your records are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual incidents or your entire account at any time. When you delete a record, it is removed from your account.
We never share or sell your data
CivicShield never shares or sells your personal information to third parties. Your data is private to your account and stays under your control. We do not use your incidents or evidence for advertising or marketing purposes.
Security
Your account is protected by your login credentials. Access to your records is restricted to you and, for administrative purposes, authorized platform administrators. We do not claim any security certification or guarantee beyond the platform's standard access controls.
Limits of AI-generated assessments and notices
AI helps analyze messages and draft notice text, but it cannot definitively determine whether a message is a scam, whether a sender violated a specific law, or whether a notice will cause a sender to stop. AI-generated notices are drafts for your review — they are not legal advice and do not guarantee any outcome. Laws vary by circumstance and jurisdiction.
