Your rights
The TCPA (47 U.S.C. § 227) restricts business solicitation calls. Telemarketers must not call numbers on the Do Not Call Registry, must honor your request to stop, and must not use automated dialers without consent. The Telemarketing Sales Rule (16 CFR Part 310) adds additional protections against deceptive sales practices.
How to stop business solicitation
Register your number at donotcall.gov. When you receive a solicitation call, ask the caller to place you on their do-not-call list and note the date and company name. Block repeat offenders, and let unknown calls go to voicemail. For B2B calls to your business line, ask to be removed from their contact list.
